Doctrinal Statement

The following is the Doctinal Statement of Don Woodard Revival Ministries.

The Word of God

We believe in the original, verbal inspiration and eternal preservation of the Scriptures and that the Bible is preserved for English speaking people in the King James Version. The Bible is mankind's final authority and contains God's plan of salvation and instructions for living a victorious life in Christ.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God Conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, died a vicarious death on the cross, shed his blood, was buried and three days later was resurrected from the dead. Ascended into Heaven where He sits at Father's right hand. We believe in His pre-millennial return for born again believers. Only through Him and His finished work at Calvary can man be reconciled to God and receive the free gift of eternal life.

The Godhead

We believe in one God existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Satan

We believe in Satan's existence as a person; in his power and kingdom; in his wiles; in his judgment at Calvary, and in his eternal destruction in Hell.

Salvation

We believe Salvation is a free gift of God offered to man by God's grace and received by man through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eternal Security of the Believer

We believe in the eternal security of the believer. When a person receives JESUS CHRIST by faith the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in the believer and God gives to them eternal life, which can never be taken from them. The Holy Spirit, through the power of God seals the believer.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit. That He convicts the sinner, regenerates the one who believes, that He indwells, seals, instructs, reproves and guides the believer. He fills and controls every life that is yielded to Him.

The Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the born again believer unto life and the bodily judgment of the unsaved unto everlasting damnation.

The Church

We believe in the authority and autonomy of the Local New Testament Church. That the church was founded by and on JESUS CHRIST, established when he "called out" the disciples. That a scriptural church is a visible assembly of believers that are covenanted together under New Testament law for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission. The Local Church is a self governing independent body of believers, having Christ as the head, the Holy Spirit for it's guide and the Bible as the only rule of faith and practice. The only Scriptural offices in the church are the bishop (Pastor) and deacons (who are to oversee the needs of the widows). The two ordinances of the church are Baptism and the Lord's Super.

Soul Winning

We believe that personal soul-winning is God's plan for bringing people to Christ and that every born again believer is commanded to be a witness for JESUS CHRIST.

Discipleship

We believe that to disciple a new convert after they have been lead to Christ and that Christians should attempt to teach new converts to observe all things.

Separation from the World

We believe that all born again believers are called unto a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices. A person who has truly received Jesus Christ as Saviour is a new creation in Christ; therefore he should live a holy and consecrated life.

Heaven and Hell

We believe in a literal Hell with eternal fire and torment for those who reject salvation through Jesus Christ and a literal Heaven, being the abode of God and place for believers.

Marriage

We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication and adultery are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman.

Revival

We believe that Revival is possible among God's poeple and can be realized when God's people prayerfully seek God's conditions for Revival.

Restoration of the Fallen

We believe that God chastises His disobedient and rebellious (fallen) children. That He is willing to restore them to fellowship and that a restored Christian can be used of God in the work of the Lord. We believe that the restoration of the fallen is the responsibility of the spiritual.

"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness..."

We believe that it is the responsibility of the fallen to seek to be restored to fellowship with Christ. "...bear his burden..."
