The Lord is using Us to bring the Gospel to the people of Haiti.
Faith Baptist Church - Maissade, Haiti
National Pastor Ovide Supreme founded this soul-winning church in his hometown of Maissade, Haiti. Pastor Supreme is a highly respected young pastor that speaks, reads and writes English along with his native tongue of Creole. Faith Baptist Church averages over 450 people in attendance and serves as bases of operations for the Ligh To Haiti Project. This local New Testament Church is sponsored by Don Woodard Revival Ministries under the authority of Beacon Baptist Church of Salem, Virginia and Pastor Tim Kirchoff.
CandleStick Baptist Orphanage - Maissade, Haiti
Founded in November of 2000 by Dr. Don Woodard and Haitian Pastor Ovide Supreme. The orphanage currently houses eighty-five children and four widows. The plight of the Haitian orphans is troubling as many were abandoned by the death of a parent, others have been given to the orphanage because their parents simply could not feed and care for them. The CandleStick Baptist Orphanage provides housing, food, clothing, and an education at the Faith Christian school and a lot of love.
We currently lease the building where the orphanage is housed. Our goal is to purchase some land that we can build our own building to house the orphanage, the school and the Faith Baptist Church. Please pray for us!
Faith Christian School - Maissade, Haiti
The Faith Christian School is where our precious orphans receive a Bible based education. Here they learn to read, write and do arithmetic. And they learn about the Lord Jesus Christ. Not only do the orphans attend the school but also so do many of the children who live in the community of Maissade. We currently have 350 children in the school. Pray for the teachers!
Faith Baptist College - Maissade, Haiti
We are currently training nineteen men for the ministry. Our first graduating class was in July 2006. Many of these men will go into areas around Haiti where there is no Bible preaching, soul-winning church to plant one for the Glory of God! For approximately $75.00 a month we will be able to help one national pastor plant a church in Haiti. Please pray for us as we work toward sending the light of hope to Haiti through our future church-planting ministry.
Current Ministry Status
We are talking with a young Haitian man that is in Bible College in Florida about coming on board with us as the Missions Director for the Light to Haiti Project. He will be finished with his training in May of 2007. This ministry would be his primary focus, to develop the current ministry in Haiti and work toward some other areas of ministering to Haitians in the United States.
Our Future Plans
Our plans include developing the orphanage ministry, opening a home for widows and launching a church-planing ministry using the national pastors who graduate from the Faith Baptist College. The Missions director will oversee the progress of these projects.
